Odds Favour Tumukunde as Judge threatens to Dismiss His case


City hall Court Grade 1 magistrate Velarian Tuhimbise has threatened to dismiss the unlawful possession of arms and ammunition case against retired Lt. General Henry Tumukunde.


This is after prosecution’s Viola Tusingwiire informed court that investigations into the matter were still ongoing.


The magistrate has given prosecution the last adjournment until October 25th and if they fail to complete these investigations, he will dismiss the case for want of prosecution.

Tumukundes is battling with unlawful possession of two guns, an AK 47 and a pistol and being in possession of 34 runs of ammunition.


General Tumukunde is also charged with one count of treason in which prosecutions states that on March the 5th, while appearing on a morning show at one of the local television stations in Kampala, the retired Lt. General made utterances which were inculcated to mean treason.
