Uganda at 58-Virtual celebrations

The minister for Presidency, Esther Mbayo says preparation for this year’s virtual Independence Day celebrations.

Addressing journalists in Kampala, Mbayo noted that the traditional Programme for independence Day celebrations will not be followed as the country is still observing the health guidelines to fight the spread of covid19.

The minister reveals that the will also not beany medals to be awarded as usually practiced during the ceremony.

“There will be no traditional programmes and fun fair because as a country, we are still observing the Ministry Of Health guidelines of the SOP’s as we manage the covid19 pandemic which is fully in our midst.

The days Programme will be aired live on all television and radio channels across the country.”
